ELA/ELD Standards

Key Features of the new ELD Standards:
  • They are aligned with California's Common Core State Standards.
  • They highlight and amplify key language knowledge, skills, and abilities critical for ELLs to succeed in school while they are developing English.
  • They provide opportunities for ELLs to access, engage with, and achieve in grade-level academic content while they are learning English.
 
 
New English Language Proficiency Assessment
 
English Language Learners in California will be transitioning to a new assessment of English Language Proficiency called the ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessment for California).  The summative assessment  window is between February 1st and May 31st.  Please click the links below to view the ELPAC overview video to learn more about these assessments.
