District Plan for Student Achievement
District Plan for Student Achievement![]()
District Plan for Student Achievement
In 2013, the state of California adopted a new formula for funding public education called the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). As part of the LCFF requirements, school districts must develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year plan called The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP describes goals, actions, and services that meet state and local priorities in serving students.

The law creating the Local Control Funding Formula, specified eight areas of student achievement and school improvement that districts must address. The State Board has grouped the eight priorities into three categories: Basic Conditions, Pupil Outcomes and Engagement. Districts must develop annual goals and actions to address each of the state priorities for all students and for student subgroups, particularly low-income students, English learners and foster youth.

Stakeholder Engagement
Engaging parents, students, school staff members, and other stakeholders in development of the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals and actions is central to the LCAP development process. The Gridley Unified School District collaborates with a variety of district and site level stakeholder groups, including the English Language Learner Advisory Council (ELAC), Gridley Teacher’s Association, CSEA, and Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Advisory Committee, to annually update and revise goals and actions centered on the eight state priorities and other local priorities for the annual Local Control Accountability Plan. In addition to meeting with stakeholder groups, the Gridley Unified School District administers an annual parent and student survey to engage students, families and staff members in the annual review and development of the Local Control Accountability Plan goals and actions.
